Investments

Tye Bousada is a founding partner and Co-CEO of EdgePoint Investment Group Inc. Tye is also a portfolio manager on EdgePoint Global Portfolio, EdgePoint Canadian Portfolio, EdgePoint Global Growth & Income Portfolio and EdgePoint Canadian Growth & Income Portfolio.

Prior to founding EdgePoint, Tye was Vice-President and Portfolio Manager for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management), a division of Invesco Ltd. Tye joined the company in 1999 as a portfolio manager on the Canadian equity team. Tye was promoted to co-manager of Trimark Fund in 2000 and to lead manager in early 2004, a position he held until his departure in early 2008. Under his management, Trimark Fund was recognized numerous times for superior investment achievement. Prior to joining the company, Tye spent 3 years at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board where he progressed from a junior analyst to a portfolio manager. Before joining Ontario Teachers', Tye spent three years at Procter and Gamble.

Tye is also President of EdgePoint Investment Management Inc.

Tye earned an Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a CFA charterholder.

Tye is also co-founder of Timbercreek Investment Management, one of Canada’s leading private real-estate companies with assets under management of approximately $1 billion.

Sayuri is responsible for providing investment and sales analytics at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Sayuri was Manager, Product Management & Research for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) where she worked closely with the sales, marketing and client relations departments to understand their needs and produce effective fund-related communications. Sayuri joined the company in April 2001 as a mutual fund analyst supporting the Trimark portfolio management team.

Before joining Invesco Trimark, Sayuri worked on the trading floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange as well as in the market data division creating and selling data products.

Sayuri earned a B.Comm in Finance at McGill University and is a CFA charterholder.

Patrick Farmer is a founding partner of EdgePoint Investment Group Inc. and CEO of EdgePoint Wealth Management.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Patrick was Head of North American Retail Investments for Invesco Ltd. from January to October 2007. Patrick was responsible for overseeing $90 billion (US$) in equity investments and over 70 investment professionals for U.S.-based Invesco AIM (formerly AIM Investments), a division of Invesco Ltd. In addition, he oversaw $43 billion (C$) in equity and fixed-income assets and 23 investment professionals at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark and Trimark Investment Management), a division of Invesco Ltd.

Patrick was Executive Vice-President & Chief Investment Officer (CIO) from October 2000 to January 2007 and Head of Fixed Income Investments from April 1993 to June 2001, at which time he relinquished his money management duties to become CIO.

Patrick started his career in June 1985 as an investment analyst at Ontario Municipal Retirement System working in the Economics, Equity and Fixed-Income department until June 1987. He was then employed by Crown Life Insurance Company/Crown Life Investment Management Company until April 1993. He held various positions which included: investment analyst, corporate bond trader, mortgage-backed securities trader, assistant portfolio manager fixed-income and portfolio manager fixed-income.

Patrick is also Chief Compliance Officer of EdgePoint Investment Management Inc., Chairman of the Board of Cymbria Corp., and Chief Operating Officer of EdgePoint Investment Group.

Patrick earned an Honours BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and is a CFA charterholder.

Nataliya Goreva is responsible for the trading desk and portfolio administration at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Nataliya worked at Burgundy Asset Management from March 1998 to September 2008 where she held a number of positions including portfolio management administrative assistant, trader and portfolio administrator.

Nataliya has completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Trader Training Course and holds her real estate license.

She earned a teacher’s degree from Kiev State University in the Ukraine.

Geoff MacDonald is a founding partner and Co-CEO of EdgePoint Investment Group Inc. Geoff is also a portfolio manager on EdgePoint Global Portfolio, EdgePoint Canadian Portfolio, EdgePoint Global Growth & Income Portfolio and EdgePoint Canadian Growth & Income Portfolio.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Geoff was Vice-President and Portfolio Manager for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management), a division of Invesco Ltd. Geoff joined the company in 1998 as Vice-President and Portfolio Manager and was integral to the launch of Trimark Canadian Small Companies Fund and Trimark Canadian Resources Fund. Following this, Geoff successfully managed a broad range of mandates for Trimark during his 10-year tenure including Canadian small-cap, Canadian natural resources, Canadian large-cap, Canadian balanced, Global small/mid-cap, and U.S. midcap mandates. While managing these funds, Geoff’s investment achievements were recognized by a number investment awards.

Prior to joining the company, Geoff spent 4 years at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board as an investment analyst and portfolio manager.

Geoff is also Chief Investment Officer of EdgePoint Investment Management Inc.

Geoff earned his BBA from Bishop’s University and his MBA from the University of Windsor. He is a CFA charterholder.

Frank Mullen is an Associate in fixed-income and equity research.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Frank was an Associate in HSBC’s Derivatives Product Group where he worked from April 2007 to May 2009.

Frank earned an Honours B.Comm from Queen’s University. He is currently working towards his CFA designation.

Anna Tischenko is responsible for assisting on the trading desk and also provides data and analytics support.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Anna completed an Internship at Avenue Investment Management where she worked closely with the firm's partners. Anna was responsible for trade settlements, client account reconciliation, and providing administrative support to Avenue's portfolio managers.

Anna earned a B.Comm in Finance from Ryerson University. She is currently working towards her CFA designation.

Relationship Managers

Craig Advice is responsible for advisor and investor relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Craig was Vice-President for Hartford Investments from March 2007 to November 2008 where he was responsible for supporting financial advisors in Alberta. Before joining Hartford, Craig worked in Sales at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) from June 2001 to March 2007 where he held a number of different positions. Craig’s most recent position was Senior Regional Associate supporting financial advisors in Alberta.

Craig earned an Honours B.Comm degree from the University of Manitoba. He also has his Certified Financial Planner designation and has completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Canadian Investment Funds course and the Chartered Life Underwriter Advanced Taxation course.

Richard Djakovic is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Richard was Regional Vice-President, Sales for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) from 1998 to 2008, supporting financial advisors in north-eastern and south-western Ontario.  Richard joined the trust services department in February 1993.  As one of the original creator’s of Invesco Trimark’s In Sync financial planning software tool, Richard provided sales support to financial advisors across Canada from 1996 to 1998.

Richard earned a BA in Economics from York University.

Sarah Ford is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Sarah was an inside sales representative at Northwest & Ethical Investments L.P. During her 7- year tenure, she supported clients in southern Ontario and Manitoba. Prior to joining the sales team, Sarah was Manager Information Systems & Marketing – a hybrid role encompassing marketing, information technology and project management.  Sarah was responsible for various client initiatives including national and regional client events, contact management system development as well as database segmentation and administration.

Sarah earned her Honours B.Comm degree from McMaster Univesity. She has completed the Canadian Securities Course and is current working towards her CIM designation

Geoff Goss is responsible for advisor and investor relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Geoff was Regional Director for Brandes Investment Partners from June 2006 to May 2008 where he was responsible for supporting financial advisors and institutional clients in the Atlantic Provinces and Toronto.

Prior to joining Brandes, Geoff worked in Sales at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management). Geoff joined the sales department in 1993 as a marketing manager and was promoted to Regional Vice-President, Sales in 1996 until his departure in April 2006. During that time, Geoff supported financial advisors in the Atlantic provinces, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and successfully built and managed a team of wholesalers supporting financial advisors.

Geoff earned his B.Comm in Marketing from Mount Allison University.

Olivia Kao is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Olivia was Manager of Regional Associates at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) from January 2006 to October 2008. In this role, Olivia mentored and managed a team of Regional Associates supporting financial advisors in various regions across Ontario. Prior to this promotion, Olivia was a regional associate from March 2000 to August 2008 where she built and maintained relationships and supported financial advisors in the south-western Ontario region.

Prior to joining Invesco Trimark, Olivia was a personal banker at TD Canada Trust.

Olivia earned a B.Comm degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA degree from the University of Toronto. Olivia holds the CIM designation.

Malcolm King is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining to EdgePoint, Malcolm was Director, Key Accounts at Hartford Investments from March 2007 to November 2008 where he was responsible for head-office relations with various financial product distributors across Canada.

Prior to joining Hartford, Malcolm was Vice-President, National Sales Manager at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) until September 2006. Malcolm joined the sales department in September 1994 as a marketing manager. During his 12-year career at the company, Malcolm held various positions in Sales.  He was primarily responsible for building advisor relations in north-eastern Ontario until he was assigned the position of creating a sales team and building a national relationship with a significant Canadian distributor.

King was a member of the Canadian Forces on a full- and part-time basis from April 1986 until December 1995.

Malcolm earned an Honours BA in Political Science/Law & Society from York University.

Greg Lagasse is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Greg was Regional Vice President, Sales for Manulife Investments from May 2001 to May 2009, supporting financial advisors in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Prior to joining Manulife, Greg worked as Regional Vice President, Sales at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) from August 1999 to May 2001. During that time, Greg supported financial advisors in the Greater Toronto Area and the province of Manitoba.

Greg earned his Business Administration - Marketing diploma from Centennial College.

Pho Lai is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Pho was a Regional Associate, Sales at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) where he worked from September 2000 to May 2009. Pho was responsible for building and maintaining relationships and supported financial advisors in the South-Western and Niagara Ontario region.

Pho earned an Honours BA (economics) degree from the University of Western Ontario. He has completed the Canadian Securities Course and is working towards his real estate license.

Pierre Novak is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Pierre was Managing Director for BluMont Capital from June 2002 to December 2009 where he was responsible for sales in the Quebec territory.

Pierre founded and managed Trimark Investment Management's (now Invesco Trimark) Quebec sales office from November 1991 to September 2000. During that time, Pierre developed strong relationships with financial advisors as well as built and managed the Quebec sales team.

Pierre started his career as an investment advisor at Levesque Beaubien Geoffrion (now National Bank Financial) where he worked from March 1986 to January 1990.

Pierre earned a B. Comm in Finance from Concordia University.

Nicholas Telemaque is responsible for Advisor and Investor Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Nicholas was Vice-President, National Accounts for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) where he was responsible for working with client firm head offices. Prior to his role in National Accounts, Nicholas worked in various roles starting in June 2001 including supporting financial advisors in Ontario.

Nicholas earned a BA in Economics from Queen’s University.

Operations & Finance

Teresa Di Ruscio provides transactional and operational support at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Teresa was a controls and risk analysis analyst for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) in Operations. Teresa joined the company in 1996 and spent most of her career at the company as a senior knowledge-management specialist helping to manage the transactional and operational functions for a back-office administration team.

Teresa earned a Bachelor of Administrative Studies from York University.

Mary Gramegna is responsible for project-related support for the operations team at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Mary worked as a business analyst and project manager at Burgundy Asset Management from April 2006 to August 2008. Before joining Burgundy, Mary worked at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) in various capacities in the operations department starting in 1985. Her most recent role was Project Manager in Corporate Project Management.

Mary earned her International Business Administration diploma from Seneca College.

Sandro Panella provides transactional and operational support at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Sandro was a training consultant for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) in Operations. Sandro joined the company in 1993 and spent most of his career at the company as a service-oriented specialist helping to manage the transactional and operational functions for a back-office administration team.

Sandro earned a BA in Political Science from York University and has completed the Canadian Securities Course.

Diane Rossi is responsible for Operations and Client Relations at EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Diane was head of the Client Administration department for Burgundy Asset Management from April 2006 to June 2008 where she was responsible for servicing institutional and high-net worth private clients.

Prior to Burgundy, Diane worked for Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management) from 1992 to April 2006. She was Assistant Vice-President of Operations from 1999. During her 14-year career at Invesco Trimark, Diane was instrumental in building a back-office administration team. She implemented innovative solutions to maximize operational efficiencies and created a culture focused on providing superior service.

Norman Tang is Director of Finance of EdgePoint Investment Group Inc.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Norman was a Senior Manager for KPMG LLP’s Financial Institutions and Real Estate assurance practice where he worked from September 2000 to January 2009. He was responsible for managing and overseeing audits of private and public companies. He acted as a financial-instruments and derivatives specialist as well as an International Financial Reporting Standards (IFS) technical specialist. He was involved with human resources and people-management programs as part of KPMG’s initiatives in becoming an Employer of Choice.

Norman is also Chief Financial Officer of Cymbria Corp.

Norman earned his B.Comm from the University of Toronto, graduating with Distinction. He is a Chartered Accountant.

Matilde Vizinho is the office manager of EdgePoint.

Prior to joining EdgePoint, Matilde was a team assistant in the investments department at Invesco Trimark (formerly AIM Trimark Investments and Trimark Investment Management). Matilde joined the company in 2000 where she worked until January 2010. Before joining Invesco Trimark, Matilde worked for Imperial Life as a file clerk from 1999 to 2000.
